My Editing Philosophy

  • I genuinely believe every story deserves to be told—it’s not just a tagline for me.
  • Editing is collaborative. How an author reacts to my first round of edits is as important as the edits themselves.
  • Editing is subjective. There are dozens—if not hundreds or thousands—of ways to convey a message. My way isn’t always the right way, and I have no problem being told it’s not what the author wants.
  • I want to meet each author wherever they are in their writing journey and bring them forward to the next step. Sometimes the next step is to thoroughly rewrite passages—or even entire manuscripts—and sometimes it only requires a little clean-up of the punctuation.
